Course Description
The National Psychology Exam Practice Quiz provides exam-style questions presented in a live, simulated exam format.
The quiz is divided across three video modules covering the Assessment, Interventions, and Ethics and Communication domains. You are encouraged to pace and time yourself as though you are sitting the National Psychology Exam.
This structure is designed to replicate exam conditions and strengthen time management and applied reasoning. After each question, the correct answer is provided along with a detailed rationale. This allows you to identify gaps in knowledge, refine exam technique, and improve structured clinical reasoning.
Please note that this training consists of practice questions and answer explanations only. It does not include curriculum teaching. If you have already purchased the full National Psychology Exam Preparation Course or the Lite version, this quiz is already included.

Your Questions, Answered
What is included in the National Psychology Exam Preparation Course?

The course includes:
- Comprehensive video lessons covering the full NPE curriculum
- Hundreds of exam-style practice questions across all four domains
- A full simulated NPE exam delivered in a video-based format
- Detailed explanations and rationales for all practice questions
- Self-paced, on-demand access so you can revisit content at any time

- Exclusive access to the NPE AI Study Companion, custom-built using the course materials and tested with real provisional psychologists
- Access across desktop and mobile devices for flexible study
When should I start preparing for the National Psychology Exam?
I recommend that provisional psychologists begin preparing as early as possible. The NPE covers a broad and detailed curriculum, and spreading your study over time reduces stress and supports deeper learning.
As a general guide:
- 12 months: Ideal for a low-pressure, steady approach. This is why the full course includes 12 months of access.
- 6 months: Suitable for a consistent, moderate study pace with regular weekly commitment.
- 3 months: Best for those with minimal outside commitments who can dedicate significant time to focused study.
These timeframes are guides only. Everyone’s capacity, responsibilities, and learning style differ. I encourage provisional psychologists to work with their brain, not against it, and choose a study plan that feels realistic and sustainable.
Can provisional psychologists claim the NPE course as a tax deduction?
Yes. The National Psychology Exam Preparation Course, the Lite course, and my other professional training and clinical resources are tax deductible as professional development expenses.
Because these resources directly support your training and professional competence, they can generally be claimed at tax time. Be sure to keep your receipt for your end-of-financial-year records and consult your accountant if you need personalised advice.
I’ve recently failed the National Psychology Exam. How can you help?
First, I want to be very clear: one exam result does not define your competence or your future as a psychologist. The NPE is challenging, and many capable provisional psychologists require more than one attempt.
I’ve supported many psychologists who have previously failed the NPE and later passed with confidence. If you would like guidance, you’re welcome to contact me.
To help me provide tailored feedback, please email:
- A copy of your NPE results
- Details of your previous study approach, including:
- How you prepared
- Any courses or resources used
- Textbooks or readings completed
- How long you studied
- Any challenges experienced during preparation or on exam day
The more detail you provide, the more targeted my guidance can be. I’ll review your information and offer next steps with no obligation to purchase anything.
Can I prepare for the NPE while working full-time?
Yes. Many provisional psychologists prepare for the National Psychology Exam while working full-time. A flexible, self-paced study approach allows you to integrate NPE preparation alongside placement, supervision, and work commitments in a way that fits your life.
What is the difference between the NPE Preparation Course and the NPE Preparation Course: Lite?
The NPE Preparation Course (Full Course) is the most comprehensive option. It includes the full, updated curriculum taught through in-depth video lessons, hundreds of exam-style practice questions, a full simulated NPE exam, downloadable resources, and exclusive access to the NPE AI Study Companion.
The Lite Course provides access to the core video training modules and live-style NPE practice exam questions, covering the essential curriculum content without the additional features included in the Full Course. It does not include the extended practice question bank, downloadable resources, or access to the NPE AI Study Companion. This option is well suited to those who prefer a streamlined, focused approach to exam preparation.
Both options are fully aligned with the current 2026 AHPRA NPE curriculum and competency requirements.
Can the NPE Preparation Course be counted toward internship professional development hours?
Yes. Time spent completing the NPE Preparation Course, Lite Course, and associated practice resources can be logged as part of your internship professional development hours, in line with AHPRA guidelines.
The course is designed to support learning and skill development relevant to internship requirements. As with all professional development activities, hours should be recorded appropriately and discussed with your supervisor in accordance with current AHPRA requirements.
Who should choose the Lite version over the Full NPE Preparation Course?
The Lite Course is a good option for provisional psychologists who feel confident in their foundational knowledge and are primarily seeking a clear, structured review of the updated NPE curriculum. If you’re mainly looking for core video lessons and a simulated NPE-style practice exam, the Lite option may be sufficient.
The Full Course is recommended for those who want a more comprehensive level of support. It includes an expanded practice question bank, a full simulated NPE exam, exclusive access to the NPE AI Study Companion, ongoing updates, and eligibility to log professional development hours. If you value structure, depth, and access to every available resource, the Full Course is the better fit.
Both options are aligned with the current 2026 AHPRA curriculum and competency updates.
How was the NPE Preparation Course created?
The NPE Preparation Course was developed through a combination of in-depth academic review, extensive clinical experience, and many years of supporting provisional psychologists through the National Psychology Exam.
I personally read and synthesised the entire AHPRA-recommended reading list, translating complex material into clear, structured video lessons aligned with how the exam is assessed. As a board-approved supervisor with over a decade of clinical experience in complex assessment and therapy, the course draws on both academic rigour and real-world practice.
The course was created in response to sustained demand. For years, I supported provisional psychologists through NPE-focused supervision, workshops, and free study resources. As this community grew, it became clear that a comprehensive, accessible, curriculum-aligned program was needed.
Developing the NPE Preparation Course has been one of the most significant projects of my career. It remains important to me that the course is thorough, up to date, and genuinely useful for provisional psychologists preparing for the National Psychology Exam.
Do you offer payment plans for your courses?
Yes. You can choose to pay using Afterpay, or PayPal Pay in 4. These options allow you to access your course immediately and pay the cost in four interest-free instalments over several weeks.
Please note that Amanda Moses Psychology is not affiliated with these providers. They are independent third-party services, and I recommend reviewing their terms and conditions to ensure they’re the right fit for you.
Do you update your NPE Preparation Course regularly?
Yes. The NPE Preparation Course is regularly reviewed and updated to ensure it remains aligned with the current AHPRA curriculum, reading list, and threshold professional competencies.
Updates may include revised video lessons, updated explanations, additional practice questions, or changes reflecting new guidance in ethics, legislation, or curriculum requirements. All updates are included at no additional cost during your access period.
Maintaining the accuracy and quality of this course is an ongoing responsibility I take seriously.
What is the difference between the Exam Prep Quiz and the NPE Practice Questions?
The Exam Prep Quiz is an 80-question simulated NPE experience delivered in a timed, video-based format. You complete the quiz as if you were sitting the exam, then watch a detailed walkthrough where I explain each answer and rationale. It’s designed to mirror the exam environment and support time management, reasoning under pressure, and exam-day preparation. This component can generally be logged as approximately four hours of professional development.
The NPE Practice Question Modules are written resources containing 50 exam-style questions per module, each with detailed written rationales. They provide additional practice across all four NPE domains and can be completed at your own pace. The questions differ from those in the Exam Prep Quiz, which is why many people choose to use both.
If you’re enrolled in the Full NPE Preparation Course, you already have access to both the Exam Prep Quiz and all Practice Question Modules.
I’m planning to sit the exam soon. Will I have enough time to complete the course?
You receive immediate access to the full NPE Preparation Course upon enrolment and can work through the material at your own pace.
How long it takes to complete the course varies depending on your existing knowledge, learning style, and available time. Some provisional psychologists move through the content quickly when preparing for an upcoming exam, while others prefer a slower, more reflective pace.
If your exam date is approaching, the course can still be completed within a shorter timeframe with more focused study. The structure is flexible and designed to support both long-term preparation and more intensive short-term study.
How long will I have access to the NPE Preparation Course? Can I extend my access?
You receive 12 months (52 weeks) of access to the NPE Preparation Course from the date of purchase. This allows ample time to complete the content and revisit lessons as needed.
If you require additional time due to rescheduling, personal circumstances, or further preparation, you’re welcome to contact me. Access extensions are available for a small fee, depending on the length of the extension required.
Will taking your NPE Preparation Course guarantee that I pass the exam?
No course can guarantee an exam outcome, and I would never make misleading claims about guaranteed results.
What I can say is that this course is comprehensive, carefully designed, and has consistently received strong feedback from provisional psychologists. It has supported over 1000 provisional psychologists in preparing effectively for the NPE, and I’m proud of the role it has played in their success.
Ultimately, exam outcomes are influenced by a range of factors outside my control. My commitment is to provide the most thorough, accurate, and supportive preparation possible to help maximise your readiness for the exam.
